This scholarship will fund Antonieta’s studies to take the Bar Course so she can take the next step to becoming a barrister.

Antonieta said: "It is a great honour to have been awarded this scholarship. I am eager to continue developing my skills in commercial litigation, under the mentorship of Keating Chambers. I remain thankful for the foundation built at the 鶹Ƶ and for their continued support. For those of us whose paths are not always linear, it’s important to pause and acknowledge each step. They are all part of the wider journey."

Professor Katy Peters, Director of Employment for Surrey Law School, adds: “I am delighted that Antonieta has succeeded in her application for a Gray’s Inn scholarship. It is a competitive scholarship and, in securing this award, Antonieta has shown the determination and acuity she displayed whilst at Surrey. We support all students in their pursuit of a legal career, regardless of their financial means and backgrounds. Antonieta joins a force of many Surrey alumni whose talents have been recognised with scholarships, internships and placements.”

Gray’s Inn awards means-tested to ensure no person is prevented from entering the Bar because of financial reasons alone. The Keating Chambers Social Mobility Scholarship was first launched in September 2022 in conjunction with Gray’s Inn. It is designed to support Bar Course students from backgrounds under-represented at the Bar.
