Aneeb Chaudhry, who graduated from Surrey’s MEng Chemical Engineering in 2017, is a Process Engineer at Brenntag UK Ireland Ltd and was recently named winner of the Chemical Business Association (CBA)’s Young Person Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions within the company.

I started to consider a career as a doctor and worked as a healthcare assistant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. This experience, alongside what I learnt on my course, confirmed that medicine was the perfect career for me.

My research identified psychological and social barriers that prevent farm vets and farmers from always prescribing and using antibiotics in the most appropriate way.

Dr Aduwati Sali, who studied for her PhD in Mobile and Satellite Communications at Surrey, tells us about being shortlisted as a finalist in the Professional Achievement category in the prestigious British Council Alumni Awards Malaysia.

I'm studying for an Epidemiology PhD and I love the nature of the work, having the freedom to develop my own ideas and take them forward into projects.

Studying for an MEng at Surrey confirmed I wanted to work in medical device product development. It also gave me a strong grounding in fundamental concepts across a variety of medical technologies.

I’m currently studying for a masters, learning about the sustainable development of the food system, investigating important world challenges like food insecurity.

Prior to GSA, I was unaware of the value of formal acting training and the benefits of building a solid technique. GSA helped me to collate a personalized actor’s toolbox specific to my needs as a performer and for this, I am extremely grateful. I feel that I left GSA a much more well-rounded and consistent performer than when I entered.

I was part of the Surrey/ICE Scholarship scheme. This meant that at the time of joining Mott MacDonald as a graduate civil engineer, I’d already had 16 months of experience there. Without that scheme and the links Surrey has with industry, I don’t think I’d be sitting in this job today!
