I studied at Surrey for my MSci in Biochemistry, where my project focused on tuberculosis infection. The research was very successful and continued through the summer after I had graduated. The combination of an exciting PhD project and a fantastic group of scientists confirmed my choice to continue at Surrey.

I’ve been inspired by career opportunities in fields such as animal care, welfare, research, conservation, and even veterinary medicine. Exploring these diverse options on my course has been incredibly rewarding, and I now feel more confident in shaping my future career.

Our professors were incredibly supportive throughout the year, and the university offers personalised career guidance, learning and development platforms, and well-being services, all of which were valuable in supporting me during my studies and job search.

At Surrey, it really feels like you have access to all the tools you need to do well, and you are provided with so many interesting opportunities and experiences.

The University is passionate about helping me develop my skills and pursue my dream career, as evidenced by the Games and Innovation Nexus, the many networking events that have been held, and the industry expert guest speakers.

I chose Surrey not only for its lovely campus, but because the course offers so much variety, which gives me the opportunity to discover what I would like to do with my career in nutrition.

Professional Training Placement played a crucial part in informing my career plans by providing me with opportunities to experience various engineering disciplines prior to graduation.
