I’ve been able to connect directly with sustainability-oriented organisations through guest lecturers on some of our modules, and recommendations from CES academics.

For me, the most enjoyable parts of the course are the lab experiments and projects. Whether it’s an individual or group project, the satisfaction of putting things together and building something that works – from scratch – is a unique feeling.

Being a campus university, Surrey feels like a community, which definitely helps when you are starting out as a Fresher.

One of the things I enjoy the most about the course is the variety in the way we’re taught and assessed: we’ve had practical lab sessions and a clinical visit to a nuclear medicine department, alongside traditional classroom lectures.

I studied for my undergraduate degree at Surrey and enjoyed it so much that I simply didn’t feel ready to finish, so staying here for another year to study the MSc Mathematics was an easy decision.

All the academic staff in the School of Mechanical Engineering Sciences are very friendly and they want us to do the best we can.

I'd definitely recommend doing an MPhys programme. It's the best way to learn your subject, regardless of your future career ambitions.
